China's Agenda 21st Century
After the Rio International Conference on Environment and Development held in 1992, the Chinese Government took lead in formulating China Agenda 21, taking the sustainable development strategy as a major strategy to be followed in its modernization drive.
At the conference, members endorsed an action plan known as the "Agenda 21", which provided a layout plan for the adoption of countries all over the world for their development in the 21st Century.
