The results show that the oil droplet size, flow rate of the emulsion along the membrane surface, liquid-liquid interfacial tension and membrane flux can significantly affect oil-removing efficiency.
The role of high molecular weight polymers in reducing droplet size is explained in terms of polymer coil overlap which results in a large increase in the viscosity of the solution.
